2012 OPEN WHEEL RULES

RACECIEVERS ARE MANDATORY

1. BODY: Body Rake from spoiler to driver compartment, no more than 6” Rake. 68” maximum width – no tolerance- 2” fins on nose – not to extend farther than the leading edge of head. No other lips – fins, or wings allowed. No portion of the nose piece is to extend past the front bumper and must be at least 7” from the ground. No belly pans or tunneling inside of body or under the car.

(A) Spoilers will be 6” from decking to top of spoiler

       1. Side supports will be 20”in length and 5” tall

       2. 2 side supports at rear

       3. 2 center supports

(B) Rear Panels are optional

2. ENGINES: No Motor Claim

1. MSD Boxes or MSD Attachments to All Distributors

(A) All cars will be chipped with 7500 RPM MSD Chips

(B) Chipped By the Track and MSD Boxes will be CHECKED for Tampering

(C) All cars after Race with Driver Must Weigh–2400 lbs

1) Engines with aluminum heads must weigh 2450 lbs

(A) 25lbs. in front of motorplate on each side

(D) NO Traction Control Cams!!

OPENWHEELS WITH GM CRATE ENGINES

604 Aluminum Heads Must Weigh 2350lbs & 602 All Steel Heads Must Weigh 2300lbs

A)     All Motors will be chipped with a 7500 Chip-Including Crate Motors

B)    Crate Motors: must be as it is listed – Chevy. Example Chevy crate 604 must have the 50lb Crankshaft – powdered 5.7 connecting rods as called for.

C)    1. Valve springs must be factory type called for by GM – NO other type

D)    2. Sealed motors will be looked as the Same as all the other Motors in this Class.

3. TRANSMISSION: Any transmission

(A) No straight drives

(B) Any Bell-housing

4. WHEELS & TIRES: Steel wheels – bead locks on right side of car only – optional

(A) Tires – 8” wide – Hoosier or American Racers

(B) Tires must stick – 50 anytime

(C) Tires CAN BE Siphoned and Grooved

5. REAR ENDS: 1. No Rachet type rear ends

2. 9" or Quick Change Style Rear Ends ALLOWED

6. DRIVE SHAFTS: Steel only – painted white

7. SHOCKS: 1 shock per wheel

(A) Bump stops are NOT allowed

(B) No canister type shocks

(C) Steel Bodied- $100 Exchange Rule

1. Non-Adjustable Shocks

8. SUSPENSIONS: Same as Last Year

9. Cars Must have Weight Claims Posted on Right Side of Roof Panel- 2" x 4" Tall & Long

10. Raceceivers are Mandatory!!

11. Weights & Drive Shafts MUST BE Painted White with the # of the car located on it!

A) MUST BE BOLTED ON WITH A GRADE 8 BOLT NO SMALLER THAN A 1/2 IN. BOLT, NO EXCEPTIONS
