This week for the Super Late Models it will be $1000 To-Win $200 To-Start (10+ Cars), we are working to get the super late model car count up by offering a weekly payout worth it for the supers to show up and race every weekend. Also, this week we will lower our General Admission price to $10 Kids 12 and Under Free, Pits $30. We understand that times are tough in this economy and want our fans of Thunderhill Raceway to know we appreciate them coming out and supporting the track every weekend. Due to forecasted weather for later this
afternoon & tonight, we will reschedule tonight’s sprint car
race at Thunderhill Raceway for a later date. The races have
been called off for 5/12/12. We wanted to give the guys that are
traveling from out of town enough notice that they would make a
wasted trip. Thanks and we'll see everyone at the next one. Thanks, Wayne Burns May 8th, 2012- Saturday May 12th, 2011 Thunderhill Raceway will present Thunderhill Raceways Unsanctioned Winged Outlaw Sprint cars, along with regular classes racing. Thunderhill Raceway is looking forward to hosting its own unsanctioned winged outlaw sprint car show this upcoming Saturday night. 700 horsepower of ground pounding, dirt slinging power house winged outlaw sprint cars will hit Thunderhill Raceway for the first time of three scheduled appearances in 2012, paying $1200 to-win and $300 to-start. Sprint car rules will be based on USCS and ASCS rules. Tire rule will be open, any tire on all four corners Drivers choice. Engine size will be 360 cubic inches and down, NO 410 cubic inch engines. This will be unsanctioned and points will not be issued. Along with the sprint cars racing, Thunderhill will feature its regular classes that include the limited late models, modified streets, street stocks, and mini stocks. Thunderhill Raceway admission to the sprint car show will be $17 for General Admission and $15 for seniors, Pit admission will be $30 and kids 12 and under free accompanied by an adult. Gates will open at 4 pm, Driver meeting at 5:45pm, Hot laps at 6pm and Racing starts at 7pm. April 30, 2012- On tap for Thunderhill Raceway this weekend May 5th, 2012 will be a Regular Weekly Show with a Twist, featuring a $1500 To-Win $100 to-start, no entry fee 25 Lap Super Late Model event, a $400 To-Win Modified Street 20 Lap event, plus All Regular Divisions will be racing. Gates will Open at 4pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:45pm, Racing to Start at 7pm. General Admission is Adults $15, Seniors $12, Pit Admission is $30 Kids 12 and Under FREE. April 25th, 2012- This weekend at Thunderhill Raceway April 28th, 2012 will be Regular Show, Plus Kids Bike and Foot Races. Classes racing will be Late Model/Crates, Openwheel, Modified Streets, Street Stocks, and Mini Stocks. Gates will Open at 4pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:45pm, Racing to Start at 7pm. General Admission is Adults $12, Seniors $10, Pit Admission is $30 Kids 12 and Under FREE. Also, the $3000 To-Win Super Late Model event has been Rescheduled for May 26th, 2012, as it will be a Double Header Weekend and a Late Model Extravaganza with the Danny Sandrell Memorial at Thunderhill Raceway. It will be a 40 Lap $3000 To-Win event for the Super Late Models and $1000 To-Win event for the Late Model/Crates, Plus Regular Classes Racing. APRIL 21st, 2012 - Races are Canceled for tonight April 21st. Too much rain has fallen at the track earlier this morning and wouldn’t be safe racing conditions here at the track. the $3000 to-win Super Late Model race will be rescheduled for May 5th. April 16th, 2012 – Thunderhill Raceway will have a $3000 To-Win 40 Lap event for the big guns of the Super Late Models this Saturday April 21st, 2012, Plus All Regular Divisions will be racing. This will be the first of three big super late model events for 2012. Admission for the event will be Adults $15, Seniors $12, Pit Admission $30 Kids 12 and Under Free. Gates will Open at 4pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:45pm Hot Laps after Drivers Meeting and Racing Starts at 7pm April 13th, 2012- ATTN: OPENWHEELS- You must have and run a 7500 MSD Chip or Smaller to compete tomorrow night. We apologize for the short notice, our chips will not be in till Monday. April 9th, 2012 - Thunderhill Raceway will be running a Regular Race Program with the 2012 Points season to begin this upcoming Saturday April 14th, 2012. Gates will open at 4pm, Drivers Meet at 5:45pm and events will get started at 7pm. General Admission will be $12 Seniors $10, Pit Admission will be $30, Kids 12 and Under Free April 2nd, 2012- Thunderhill Raceway in Summertown, Tn., is set to begin its 2012 race season this weekend, Saturday April 7, 2012 with the KAJUN Mini Stock Series headlining events and all regular classes slinging dirt around the high banks of Thunderhill Raceway. On Saturday April 7, 2012 Thunderhill Raceway will kick off its 2012 events with a full racing program with all classes racing, including the KAJUN Mini Stock Series, who will headline the night with a $1000 to-win race. Classes at Thunderhill include the Super Late Models, Late Model/Crates, Openwheels, Modified Streets, Street Stocks, and Mini Stocks. Events for the night will begin with hot laps for all classes, then the big boys of the super late models and Late Model/Crates will time trail for position. All other classes will run heat races and then all classes will run feature events. Plenty of racing action for a Saturday night. Gates Open at 4pm, Drivers Meeting 5:45pm, Racing Starts at 7pm. With just a lil over a
week away from opening night at Thunderhill the final Test and
Tune is this Saturday March 31st, Gates will be open at 11am and
Testing will start at 12 Noon—Until. Pit admission will be $15.
The Grandstands will be closed, the concession stand will be
open with drinks, hot dogs, & hamburgers. Anyone wanting to come
and clean up their sky booths or help with general clean up is
welcome to do so, this Saturday March 20th, 2012-Test and Tune #1 is this Saturday March 24th, Gates will be open at 11am and Testing will start at 12 Noon—Until. Pit admission will be $15. The Grandstands and Concessions will be closed. Anyone wanting to come and clean up their sky booths or help with general clean up is welcome to do so, this Saturday & next. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the track, as we get prepared for another great racing season at Thunderhill Raceway.
February 19th, 2012- Due to wet conditions at the track and putting work at getting the new wall and other projects at the track behind, We are adjusting our Test and Tune dates, Test and Tune dates will be moved to March 24th and 31st. We will have our opening night on April 7th, 2012 as scheduled with the KAJUN MINI Stocks and all regular divisions racing.
February 1st, 2012- The
2012 schedule has been adjusted and Test and Tune Dates have
been moved to March 17th and 24th, 2012. Opening night has been
bumped up a couple of weeks to get racing action back under way
at Thunderhill. Opening night will be on April 7th, 2012
featuring the KAJUN MINI STOCK Series with a $1000 To-Win & $50
To Start race, along with all other classes racing. Regular Mini stocks will race their own race, those electing to race in the Kajun Mini Stock on April 7th, can race in it but can not race both classes with the same car. January 20th, 2012- The 2011 Thunderhill Raceway Points Banquet is this upcoming weekend Jan. 28th, 2012 at 7 pm at the Ethridge Church of Christ. Plates will be $15 at the door. Points champions & top 5 in points & 1 guest will be free. The Menu will consist of Barbeque Pork or Chicken and all the fixings and desserts. Also, an engine rule has been added to the Openwheel class that consists of Openwheels electing to run a GM CRATE motor 602 All Steel or a 604 Aluminum Heads. OPENWHEELS WITH GM CRATE ENGINES 604 Aluminum Heads Must Weigh 2350lbs & 602 All Steel Heads Must Weigh 2300lbs A) All Motors will be chipped with a 7500 Chip-Including Crate Motors B) Crate Motors: must be as it is listed – Chevy. Example Chevy crate 604 must have the 50lb Crankshaft – powdered 5.7 connecting rods as called for. C) 1. Valve springs must be factory type called for by GM – NO other type D) 2. Sealed motors will be looked as the Same as all the other Motors in this Class. Time is running out on those that wish to keep their current Booths and Pit Pads. February 1st is the deadline for payment to keep their spots from 2011. After February 1st it will be first come first serve for those wanting available spots. Wayne is at the speedway during the week for anyone wishing to stop by and make payment toward their booth or pit pad for 2012. We look forward to seeing everyone at the banquet and awarding our points champions. The 2012 Rules have been Posted, follow the Rules link HERE. Two main rules to be implented in 2012 in ALL Classes is that RaceCeivers are Mandatory, no exceptions! All weights and drive shafts MUST BE painted white with the cars number on it and it must be bolted on with GRADE 8 BOLTS, NO SMALLER than 1/2" bolts. The 2011 Thunderhill Raceway Banquet is
